Rick Kaylor, President
Rick Kaylor is president of Tidelands Health Group and senior vice president of system development for Tidelands Health. Before joining the organization in 2005, he served as system vice president of Ephraim McDowell Health and president and CEO of Ephraim McDowell Health Resource in Kentucky. He has also held executive leadership positions at hospitals in Louisiana, South Carolina and Tennessee. Mr. Kaylor holds master's degrees from the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and Western Kentucky University. He received a bachelor's degree from Middle Tennessee State University. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Gerald Harmon, MD, Vice President
Gerald Harmon, MD, is vice president of Tidelands Health Group. A board-certified family medicine physician, Dr. Harmon also serves as chairman of the American Medical Association. Dr. Harmon completed his medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina and his residency at U.S. Air Force Regional Hospital. He has been a family medicine physician in the Tidelands region for more than 25 years. He served as chief surgeon and assistant surgeon general before retiring from the National Guard and the U.S. Air Force, where he served in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. He has been a delegate to the AMA House of Delegates for nearly two decades and is a member of the AMA Council on Medical Service. He is a clinical professor at the Medical University of South Carolina and the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. He is a former president and chairman of the South Carolina Medical Association.
