Tidelands Health has closed its call for volunteers to help sew elastic straps on N95 respirators after more than 2,000 people came forward to help in just two days
In just one day, more than 1,200 area residents have volunteered to sew new bands on the N95 respirators, and a company from four hours away volunteered to donate enough elastic to retrofit 20,000 respirators.
To volunteer for the sewing effort, please visit tidelandshealth.org, or call 1-866-TIDELANDS. Volunteers will be provided the necessary supplies and instructions.
Community members can download and print a “Thank you to the helpers” sign from tidelandshealth.org to display in the windows of their homes, businesses or vehicles to encourage all of those working for the community during this unprecedented time.
The blood drive will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Tidelands Health Conference Center, 4367 Riverwood Drive in Murrells Inlet.
