Resident Salary and Benefits

The Tidelands Health MUSC Family Medicine Residency Program provides compensation and benefits to each resident as the sole consideration for the services provided.

The program's annual salary is commensurate with the level of training and is paid to the resident in bi-weekly installments, less applicable withholding taxes.
LEVEL SALARY
- PGY 1: $55,000
- PGY 2: $56,500
- PGY 3: $58,000
Annual Leave
- 20 days
- To be taken within a 12-month period
Sick and Bereavement Leave
Maternity, Paternity and Adoption Leave
- 20 days annual leave
- To be taken within a 12-month period
- Above paid leave will be reduced by leave used previously during the 12- month period
- Additional unpaid time off beyond this initial four weeks can be requested
Insurance
Rates vary dependent on resident selection of Tidelands Health insurance plan and family coverage options. Insurance coverage begins on the first day of employment.

Educational Allowance
- First-year resident: $800
- Second-year resident: $1,500
- Third-year resident: $2,000
Educational allowance my be used to purchase educational materials such as textbooks, tablet, laptop, apps, study materials and courses.
