At Tidelands Health, we are committed to providing you with a positive experience that exceeds your expectations.
If you are unable to resolve concerns directly with your care team, our patient advocate is here to help. Our patient advocate will objectively listen to your feedback and concerns and can offer needed assistance.
How the patient advocate can help
Our patient advocate actively solicits and responds to patient, family and visitor feedback with the goal of improving your experience at Tidelands Health. The patient advocate:
- Visits patients to help ensure needs are met
- Provides information and responds to questions from patients, friends, family and visitors
- Assists in communication with the clinical care team
- Responds to, reviews and resolves concerns
- Shares compliments and recommendations to staff and leadership
When to contact the patient advocate
Our patient advocate welcomes the opportunity to help you. The patient advocate can:
- Help facilitate communication between patients, friends, family and visitors and Tidelands Health team members and address concerns that cannot be resolved by staff present at the time
- Interpret health system policy
- Assist in the discussion of ethical issues
- Clarify patient rights and responsibilities according to the law
In addition, Tidelands Health team members may refer individuals to our patient advocate in case of a concern or complaint they are unable to resolve themselves.
