Tidelands Health leader earns national recognition for advocacy efforts
A Tidelands Health leader has earned national recognition for efforts to advocate on behalf of patients and the community.
The American Hospital Association presented its 2024 Grassroots Champion award to Carl Lindquist, associate vice president of government affairs and community relations for the not-for-profit health system.
The annual award honors one hospital leader in each state for advocating on behalf of patients, hospitals and communities, as well as educating lawmakers about topics that may affect a hospital’s vital role in its community.
The South Carolina Hospital Association nominated Lindquist for the award.
Since joining Tidelands Health in 2016, Lindquist has developed a robust advocacy program built on a foundation of communication, collaboration and education. The health system has aggressively advocated for policies to strengthen the pipeline of health care professionals, enhance access to care, improve health care workplace safety and much more.
This marks the third time in five years Tidelands Health has earned the Grassroots Champion award. Gayle Resetar, executive vice president and chief operating officer, earned the accolade in 2022, while Lindquist was also recognized in 2019.
