Board-certified cardiologist joins Tidelands Health Cardiology 

A board-certified cardiologist has joined Tidelands Health Cardiology and is accepting new patients. 

Dr. Jacob Ortiz provides care and treatment for a range of heart and vascular conditions, including coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmia, hypertension and more. He performs cardiac catheterization procedures, pulmonary embolism treatment and advanced cardiac imaging. Dr. Ortiz sees patients at Tidelands Health Cardiology locations in Murrells Inlet and Pawleys Island. 

Dr. Ortiz earned his medical degree from UCLA School of Medicine and completed his residency at UC Davis Medical Center. He completed a cardiovascular imaging fellowship at Boston Medical Center, a general cardiology fellowship at Maine Medical Center, a cardiovascular critical care fellowship at Duke University and an interventional cardiology fellowship at University of Virginia. 

Dr. Ortiz earned board certifications in general cardiology, cardiac CT and critical care from the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of the American Society of Echocardiography.
