Tidelands Health hospitals earn ‘High Performing’ ratings from U.S. News & World Report
Tidelands Health hospitals have earned recognition as “High Performing” by U.S. News & World Report.
Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital and Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital
were named in U.S. News’ 2023-24 Best Hospitals as “High Performing” in specific procedures and the treatment of certain conditions – the highest distinction a hospital can earn in the procedures and conditions ratings.
Tidelands Waccamaw earned “High Performing” recognition in four areas of care and treatment: hip replacement, knee replacement, pneumonia and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Tidelands Georgetown earned “High Performing” recognition in the care and treatment of heart attacks.
An overall rating of “High Performing” indicates that Tidelands Waccamaw and Tidelands Georgetown were significantly better than the national average in those procedures and treatment of those conditions.
“Earning recognition by U.S. News & World Report is a testament to the care our team provides every day,” said Ashley Capps, vice president of operations and chief nursing officer.
The annual procedures and conditions ratings are designed to assist patients and their doctors in making informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions or elective procedures.
“For 34 years, U.S. News has provided data-informed rankings to help patients and their doctors find the best hospital to treat their illness or condition,” said Ben Harder, chief of health analysis and managing editor at U.S. News. “Fewer than half of evaluated hospitals earned any High Performing rating. Hospitals that are High Performing have excelled in providing high-quality care in specific procedures and/or conditions.”
