Blood drive set for April 24 in Murrells Inlet, Georgetown
Community members are encouraged to donate blood at blood drives April 24 in Murrells Inlet and Georgetown.
Tidelands Health is partnering with The Blood Connection to offer the blood drives from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. outside Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital, 4070 Highway 17 in Murrells Inlet, and Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital, 606 Black River Road.

Blood donors must be healthy, at least 17 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds. Be sure to bring a valid ID. People who are feeling ill should postpone donating blood until they feel healthy and are symptom-free. Appointments will take priority, but walk-ins are welcome.
Blood supplies are vital for patients with cancer, chronic diseases, cardiac conditions, those who have experienced a trauma and more. A single blood donation has a shelf life of only 42 days, so donations from community members are continuously needed to keep supplies replenished.
