Tidelands Health Breast Center earns national accreditation, one of only 10 in South Carolina
Tidelands Health Breast Center is one of only 10 providers in South Carolina and the only one in the region to meet the stringent requirements to earn accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers.
Tidelands Health Breast Center, with locations in Myrtle Beach, Murrells Inlet and Georgetown, recently earned a three-year reaccreditation from NAPBC. The recognition is granted to breast centers that are committed to providing the highest-quality care for breast disease, according to the NAPBC. Centers undergo a rigorous evaluation of their performance and compliance with NAPBC standards.
“This reaccreditation confirms the high level of professional, compassionate care that patients receive at our Tidelands Health Breast Center locations,” said Dr. Craig Brackett, medical director of the Tidelands Health breast health program. “Our team of specialists is committed to providing care and treatment tailored to each patient’s individual needs.”
Receiving care at a NAPBC-accredited center means that a patient has access to:
- Comprehensive care, including a broad range of state-of-the-art services
- A multidisciplinary team approach to coordinate the best treatment options
- Information about ongoing clinical trials and new treatment options
- Quality breast care close to home
A breast center that achieves NAPBC accreditation has demonstrated a commitment to offer its patients every significant advantage in their battle against breast disease, according to the NAPBC. During the accreditation process, a breast health center must demonstrate compliance with standards established by the NAPBC for treating women who are diagnosed with the full spectrum of breast disease.
The NAPBC, administered by the American College of Surgeons, is a group of professional organizations dedicated to improving the quality of breast care and monitoring outcomes of patients with breast diseases. Its board membership includes professionals from 20 national organizations.
