Walk-ins for COVID-19 vaccine welcome at Tidelands Health vaccination event Saturday in Myrtle Beach

No appointment required between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Individuals wanting to receive the COVID-19 vaccine can simply stop by Tidelands Health’s location at The Market Common between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday.

Typically, appointments are required to receive a vaccine, but the health system is setting aside two hours Saturday to accommodate those who haven’t had the time to schedule an appointment in advance.

“We want to make it as easy and convenient as possible for individuals to receive the lifesaving COVID-19 vaccine,” said Gayle Resetar, chief operating officer of Tidelands Health. “We understand that many people have hectic schedules, so we’ve designated this special time Saturday for them to simply drop in at their convenience to get the vaccine.”

Individuals who take advantage of this special walk-in vaccine event will receive the Pfizer vaccine and will be scheduled for their required second dose for full protection three weeks later. Anyone 16 and older is eligible to be vaccinated Saturday.

To date, Tidelands Health has administered more than 59,100 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine at its three regional vaccination sites in Myrtle Beach, Murrells Inlet and Georgetown.

Individuals who prefer to schedule an appointment at one of the three regional vaccination sites can call 1-833-6-MYSHOT or go to Daytime, evening and weekend appointments are available. There is no out-of-pocket cost to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
