Tidelands Health names new director of wound care services
A Murrells Inlet resident with a proven track record in health care management has joined Tidelands Health as director of wound care services.
In this role, Alex Catalano oversees the health system’s wound care services, including two outpatient locations – Tidelands Health Wound Healing Center at Georgetown and Tidelands Health Wound Healing Center at Murrells Inlet.
Physicians and nurses at Tidelands Health Wound Healing Centers use advanced treatments, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, to treat patients with chronic, non-healing wounds that will not heal through the body’s natural healing process.
A Pennsylvania native, Catalano earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania, where he played on the college varsity golf team. He earned his master’s in health administration from the Medical University of South Carolina.
Catalano is married to Anna and lives in Murrells Inlet.
