It’s an Easter egg hunt with a wet and wacky twist.

Swimmers from across the region are invited to “The Egg Dive,” a just-for-fun swim meet coming Friday, April 5, to Tidelands HealthPoint Center for Health and Fitness, 12965 Ocean Highway in Pawleys Island.

The all-ages event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with underwater egg diving. Swimmers will surface dive to grab eggs from the bottom of the lap pool at Tidelands HealthPoint. A boy at the Tidelands HealthPoint Egg Dive event

At 6 p.m., warm-ups begin for a friendly swim meet open to individuals of all skill levels.

Swimmers will be divided into groups based on age and experience to compete in 25-yard heats of backstroke, freestyle or breaststroke. The winners of each heat will receive a ribbon at the conclusion of the meet.

The cost to participate is $7 per swimmer through April 4 and $10 on the day of the event. Membership to Tidelands HealthPoint is not required.

Swimmers must be able to complete at least one length of the pool without stopping. Young swimmers can wear a provided instructional belt and all participants are encouraged to wear goggles.
