Tidelands Health to host two blood drives in May

Help meet our community’s demand for blood by donating during either of two blood drives Tidelands Health will host in May.

The first blood drive will be on Friday, May 10, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital. Members of the community can donate blood at the Tidelands Health Conference Center on Riverwood Drive across from the hospital and in the hospital's first-floor classroom.Hands holding heart

The second blood drive will be on Monday, May 20, from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at Tidelands HealthPoint Center for Health and Fitness, 12965 Ocean Highway in Pawleys Island.

Appointments will take priority, but walk-ins are welcome. Appointments for the blood drive at Tidelands Waccamaw can be made by calling 843-652-1144. Appointments for the blood drive at Tidelands HealthPoint can be made by calling 843-237-2205.

In addition to having a valid ID, blood donors must be healthy, be at least 17 years old and weigh a minimum of 110 pounds.
