Tidelands Health donates ingredients, recipes for healthy Thanksgiving meals
Tidelands Health is helping community members enjoy a delicious – and healthy – Thanksgiving feast.
For the fourth consecutive year, the health system has prepared ready-made meal kits with fresh ingredients, spices and canned food – all the ingredients needed to make healthy Thanksgiving recipes also included in each kit.
Tidelands Health is donating the 80 meal kits to Helping Hands of Georgetown, which will distribute the kits and hundreds more from other donations this week.
The kits from Tidelands Health, which are designed to feed four people, have ingredients for all the traditional Thanksgiving fixings: green beans, apple-glazed baby carrots, mashed sweet potatoes, cranberry stuffing and even pumpkin crisp for dessert. Helping Hands provides the turkey.
In addition to the ingredients and recipes, the kit has tips for eating healthy that residents can use any time – not just for Thanksgiving.
“We hope our neighbors who receive the kits enjoy preparing and eating this delicious meal with their families this holiday and pick up some healthy eating tips that will continue long after the leftovers are gone,” said Jeff Malinski, general manager of support services for Tidelands Health.
