Surfside Beach attorney named chairman of the Tidelands Health Foundation board

A Surfside Beach attorney has been named chairman of the board of the Tidelands Health Foundation.

Collin Jewell, a shareholder at the Floyd Law Firm in Surfside Beach, has served on the 14-member board of directors since 2016.

Collin JewellComposed of community leaders, the volunteer board provides guidance and leadership to the foundation, which works in concert with Tidelands Health to provide new technologies, modern facilities and increased access to health care services in the Tidelands region.

“Collin has been a valuable member of our Tidelands Health Foundation board for three years and will excel in his new role as chairman,” said Jessica Sasser, executive director of the Tidelands Health Foundation. “His perspective and knowledge will serve us well as our board continues its important work serving our community.”

Jewell grew up in Murrells Inlet and is a 2003 graduate of Waccamaw High School. He graduated from the Charleston School of Law in 2010 and earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis on business law from Stetson University in DeLand, Florida in 2007.

Jewell serves as president of the board of directors for Amazing Journey, Inc., and as president of the Rotary Club of Murrells Inlet.

Jewell also is a member of the bar associations for South Carolina, Horry County and Georgetown County.
