Register now for the ‘In the Pink’ Breast Cancer Awareness Walk on Oct. 5
Help turn the community into a sea of pink by joining the Tidelands Health Foundation’s annual “In the Pink” Breast Cancer Awareness Walk on Saturday, Oct. 5, in Murrells Inlet.
The two-mile walk, which draws more than 1,000 participants every year, will begin at Waccamaw Medical Park East off U.S. 17 Bypass and wind along the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk.
Activities will begin at 8:30 a.m. with registration, music, a vendor expo and photo station. The walk starts at 10 a.m. after a survivor celebration featuring a welcome by WPDE ABC 15 meteorologist Ed Piotrowski and inspirational words by physicians from Tidelands Health Breast Center.
Community members and participants can honor a friend or loved one by purchasing a “butterfly of hope” for $5 and pinning it to a “hope” board at the event. Buyers’ names will be entered into a drawing for a gift package from the day spa at Tidelands HealthPoint Center for Health and Fitness. The package includes Dermalogica products, a classic facial treatment and a one-hour classic Swedish massage.
Registration, which includes an “In the Pink” T-shirt, is $35. Click here to register online and buy a butterfly of hope. To purchase a butterfly of hope, be sure to fill out the appropriate request box in the online form.
