New after-school program in Pawleys Island offers fitness, fun activities for children
A new after-school program in Pawleys Island gives children the opportunity to stay physically active, build character, form friendships and create new memories.
Tidelands HealthPoint Center for Health and Fitness on Monday, Sept. 30, will launch a new “Fit for Kids” club open to children in kindergarten through sixth grade.
Participating children will enjoy indoor and outdoor games, swimming, teambuilding, hands-on nutrition activities and daily fitness experiences such as Zumba and yoga led by the medical fitness center’s exercise physiologists and certified instructors.
Time also will be set aside for children to relax, use their imagination and simply have fun. Children with homework can complete it at the club’s homework station.
The club will be offered from Sept. 30 to May 29, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays at Tidelands HealthPoint, located at 12965 Ocean Highway.
The registration fee is $30 for members of Tidelands HealthPoint and $40 for non-members. The monthly rate is $230 per month for members and $280 per month for non-members. Families who register more than one child receive a $10 discount for each additional child.
Included in the monthly rate are full day camps that will be offered from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. during scheduled Georgetown County School District staff development days. Additional fees apply for special “out-of-school” camps that may take place on holidays and days when school is canceled due to inclement weather.
Fit for Kids club members should wear comfortable active wear and tennis shoes (no open-toed footwear). Bring a jacket for outdoor play when needed and a bathing suit and goggles on Fridays for swimming. A snack is provided, or participants can bring their own.
