Holiday-themed swim event coming to Tidelands HealthPoint Center for Health and Fitness

Jump into the holiday spirit at “The Santa Splash,” a just-for-fun swim meet Friday, Dec. 6, at Tidelands HealthPoint Center for Health and Fitness.

The Santa SplashThe all-ages event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with underwater tree decorating. Participants will swim for ornaments to adorn Christmas trees in the water. At 6 p.m., warm-ups begin for a friendly swim meet open to individuals of all skill levels.

Swimmers will be divided into groups based on age and experience to compete in 25-yard heats of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke or freestyle relay. Winners in each heat will receive a ribbon.

The cost is $7 per swimmer if you register by Thursday, Dec. 5, and $10 per swimmer on the day of the event. Membership to Tidelands HealthPoint, 12965 Ocean Highway in Pawleys Island, is not required.

Swimmers must be able to complete at least one 25-yard length of the pool without stopping. Participants are encouraged to wear goggles.
