Fall-themed swim meet to offer fun, friendly competition

Enjoy bushels of fun at the “Fall Crawl” swim meet on Friday, Oct. 4, at Tidelands HealthPoint Center for Health and Fitness, 12965 Ocean Highway in Pawleys Island.

Tidelands HealthPoint Center for Health and FitnessThe all-ages, just-for-fun event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with warm-ups. At 6 p.m., swimmers will be divided into groups based on age and experience to compete in 25-yard heats of backstroke, freestyle or breaststroke.

After the competition ends, all swimmers will receive ribbons and can choose a pumpkin from a floating pumpkin patch.

The cost to participate is $7 per swimmer through Oct. 3 and $10 on the day of the event. Membership to Tidelands HealthPoint is not required.

Swimmers must be able to complete at least one 25-yard length of the pool without stopping. Young swimmers can wear a provided instructional belt, and all participants are encouraged to wear goggles.
