Carl Lindquist named director of strategic communications and advocacy for Tidelands Health
A veteran marketing and communications professional with more than a dozen years of experience in the field has been named director of strategic communications and advocacy for Tidelands Health.
Carl Lindquist, who holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Michigan State University, joined Tidelands Health in October 2016 as senior communications strategist.
In the position, he assumed responsibility for the health system’s media relations program, its social media channels and developed and managed MyCarolinaLife.com, a website that provides a wealth of engaging health and wellness information.
The superior quality of Lindquist’s work has helped the health system earn a series of awards including “Social Media Campaign of the Year” in the 2018 Healthcare Marketing Impact Awards as well as a range of recognitions in the Communicator Awards, Healthcare Advertising Awards and the South Carolina Press Association’s annual competition for newspapers and associate members.
In his new position as director of strategic communications and advocacy, Lindquist will expand upon his role with Tidelands Health to assume greater responsibility for the health system’s government relations and advocacy efforts. Lindquist has worked closely with government officials and the public through his previous roles as director of communications for a county government in Pennsylvania and as a newspaper reporter covering politics and government.
“Carl is an energetic, results-oriented leader who has played an instrumental role in the health system’s efforts to engage the community to encourage health and wellness,” said Amy Stevens, vice president of marketing and communications for the health system. “In his new role, he’ll build upon those efforts to help us fulfill our mission to help people live better lives through better health.”
