Are you at risk of developing diabetes? Learn more at Walk With a Doc on Nov. 9 in Myrtle Beach
You could be at risk for diabetes and not even know it.
More than 84 million people in the U.S. have prediabetes, but nine out of 10 don’t realize it. Without lifestyle changes, individuals with prediabetes are likely to develop Type 2 diabetes, which can lead to a broad range of complications such as cardiovascular disease, kidney damage and skin conditions.
Learn more at the next Tidelands Health Walk With a Doc, which will focus on diabetes.
The free event is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 9, at 9 a.m. at Grand Park in The Market Common in Myrtle Beach.
Dr. Lisa Centilli, a family medicine physician at Tidelands Health Medical Park at The Market Common, will share her expertise about diabetes and prevention before leading the group on a one-mile walk around the lake at Grand Park.
The event is open to all ages, and strollers are welcome. Meet at the picnic pavilion adjacent to Forbus Court near the baseball fields at Grand Park.
Every month, Tidelands Health hosts Walk With a Doc, a free community walking initiative launched in May 2017.
