Walk With a Doc to feature tips on healthy holiday eating
Pies, candy, treats and feasts can make eating healthy during the holidays a challenge.
Get tips to stay on track with your healthy eating habits - while not missing out on holiday fun - at the next Tidelands Health Walk With a Doc at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8.
Every month, Tidelands Health hosts Walk With a Doc, a free community walking initiative launched in May 2017, in The Market Common community of Horry County.
Each program begins with a brief presentation on a health topic from a Tidelands Health medical professional before participants enjoy a self-paced, one-mile walk around the lake at Grand Park. The event also features healthy snacks and blood pressure checks.
This month, Tidelands Health family medicine physician Dr. Philip Nicol, a specialist in diabetes care who practices at Tidelands Health Diabetes Center, will offer advice on how to eat healthy during the holidays before leading the group for its monthly walk.
Attendees should meet at the picnic pavilion adjacent to Forbus Court near the baseball fields at Grand Park.
Walk With a Doc is open to individuals of all ages. Strollers are welcome.
