"The Santa Splash” coming Dec. 14 to Tidelands HealthPoint Center for Health and Fitness

Dive in to the holiday spirit at “The Santa Splash,” a just-for-fun swim meet coming Friday, Dec. 14, to Tidelands HealthPoint Center for Health and Fitness in Pawleys Island.

The all-ages event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with underwater tree decorating. Participants will surface dive for ornaments to adorn submerged Christmas trees. At 6 p.m., warm-ups begin for a friendly swim meet open to individuals of all skill levels.Child dressed as Santa swimming underwater

Swimmers will be divided into groups based on age and experience to compete in 25-yard heats of backstroke, freestyle, breaststroke or “ReindeerFLY.” The winners of each heat will receive a ribbon at the conclusion of the meet.
The cost to participate is $9 per swimmer and membership to Tidelands HealthPoint is not required.

Swimmers must be able to complete at least one length of the pool without stopping. Young swimmers can wear a provided instructional belt and all participants are encouraged to wear goggles.
