Tidelands Health marketing and communications department wins 12 press association awards

The Tidelands Health marketing and communications department won 12 awards, including two first-place honors, in the South Carolina Press Association’s annual competition for newspapers and associate members.

Carl Lindquist, senior communications strategist for the health system, won first place for feature writing for his story on a Myrtle Beach woman who donated more than 3,000 ounces of breast milk after the death of her infant daughter, and Tidelands Today, a weekly electronic newsletter edited by Margaret Lamb, communications strategist, won first place in the electronic newsletter/publication category.

The department won four second-place awards and six third-place awards.

“Better,” Tidelands Health’s annual report written by Stevens and designed by Kevin Pontiff, art director, won second place in the public relations campaign category. Pontiff also won second place for feature page design for his work on “What’s Cookin’,” an article that appeared in “Partners,” the health system’s quarterly printed employee publication. The department won second place in the website category for the Tidelands Health website and in the event marketing category for the “See It Safely” solar eclipse campaign.

Partners placed third in the magazine or specialty publication category.  Also placing third were Mark Roberts, interactive marketing specialist, in the feature photo category; Lindquist, sports reporting and feature writing; Pontiff, page one design; and Lamb, column writing.

Marketing and communications produces all marketing, advertising, public relations, internal communications and social media materials for the health system.
