Tidelands Health team member named Medical Staff Professional of the Year

A seven-year veteran of Tidelands Health has been named Medical Staff Professional of the Year by the South Carolina Association of Medical Staff Services.Betty Lane holding her award

Myrtle Beach resident Betty Lane, credentialing coordinator for Tidelands Health, verifies the educational background, work history, licensure and other qualifications of all physicians seeking employment with the health system or privileges to work in Tidelands Health hospitals. She is also responsible for reference checks and plays a leading role in physician orientation.  

Lane said she was eating lunch at the association’s recent annual meeting when she was announced as winner of the award.

“I was not expecting it all,” she said. “I was just absolutely honored.”

Lane was nominated by Ashton Roberts, medical staff office manager for Tidelands Health, for her record of professional accomplishment, team attitude and kindness. Lane has worked within health care for four decades.
