Tidelands Health names new associate vice president of ambulatory operations
A Georgetown County native who began her health care career as an intern at Tidelands Health is the health system's new associate vice president of ambulatory operations.
Brooke Cox has held roles of increasing responsibility since she began working for Tidelands Health as an administrative intern in 2008. In her most recent position as senior director of Tidelands Health Group, she helped manage and grow the health system’s network of physician practices.
She’ll build upon that role as associate vice president of ambulatory operations, a position that will give her broad oversight of the health system’s outpatient operations.
“Brooke is a strong leader who has played a pivotal role in the health system’s growth,” said Rick Kaylor, senior vice president of system development for Tidelands Health and president of Tidelands Health Group. “She’s laser-focused on helping ensure people have access to high-quality care close to home.”
Cox holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Coastal Carolina University and a master’s degree in health administration from the Medical University of South Carolina. She is a member of the Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce board of directors and vice president of the local chapter of the South Carolina Medical Group Management Association.
In 2015, she was named statewide administrator of the year by the association for her accomplishments at Tidelands Health. In 2013, Cox was recognized by the Sun News as one of the Top 20 young professionals under 40 on the Grand Strand. She was named 2015-2016 young professional of the year by the Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce.
“It was clear from the moment I started working at Tidelands Health that it was the place for me,” Cox said. “I have a deep respect for the organization’s focus on community health and the opportunities for growth it offers to employee partners.”
