Tidelands Health leader earns reappointment to State Board of Nursing
Karen Hazzard, associate vice president of nursing at Tidelands Health, has been reappointed to the South Carolina State Board of Nursing.
Hazzard was first appointed to the board in 2012 to represent South
Carolina’s 7th Congressional District, which includes Georgetown, Horry and several other counties in northeastern South Carolina. She was recently reappointed by the state Senate Medical Affairs Committee for a second four-year term.
The board of nursing helps protect the public’s health by developing standards for safe nursing care and by issuing nursing licenses.
At Tidelands Health, Hazzard is responsible for the oversight of nursing operations within medical/surgical units and other programs. She is a member of the South Carolina Organization of Nurse Leaders and is board certified as an advanced nurse executive.
