“Strong operational efficiency translates into superior care for our patients,” said Gary Metcalfe, vice president of supply chain and support services for Tidelands Health. “The more efficient we are as an organization, the more time and resources we can devote to improving the health and wellness of our patients and the broader community.”

Vizient Inc. is the largest member-driven health care performance improvement company in the country, serving a diverse membership base that includes academic medical centers, pediatric facilities, community hospitals, integrated health care delivery networks and non-acute health care providers.

“Tidelands Health has done an excellent job of improving its operational efficiency while also advancing clinical alignment,” said Rand Ballard, chief customer officer for Vizient. “The health system’s model brings together supply chain and category experts who provide comprehensive total cost and quality data, enabling the health system’s physicians to make informed decisions on what is best for patient care.”
