Tidelands Health earns international Telly Award for outstanding video
Tidelands Health has earned a prestigious Telly Award for its inspirational video chronicling the remarkable journey of a lifelong golfer who overcame the loss of his legs to hit the course again.
“One More Round: Charlie Naspinski Drives Again” earned a bronze in the 39th Annual Telly Awards, a premier international competition honoring excellence in video and television. ESPN, Conde Nast and National Geographic also earned Tellys this year.
More than 12,000 entries from 50 states and five continents were submitted and judged by a council of more than 200 leading experts from advertising agencies, production companies and major television networks.
The nearly 10-minute video tracks Naspinski’s journey as he works tirelessly with the team at Tidelands Health Rehabilitation Services to learn how to walk, drive and even golf using prosthetic legs.
Dargan Ervin, Naspinski’s lead physical therapist at Tidelands Health Rehabilitation Services at North Myrtle Beach, also was featured. Mark Roberts, interactive marketing specialist for Tidelands Health, filmed and produced the video.
“Our rehabilitation team worked closely with Mr. Naspinski, helping him overcome challenges to lead a better life,” said Amy Stevens, vice president of marketing and communications for Tidelands Health. “We were honored to share his amazing story.”
The Telly is the latest in a string of awards for the Tidelands Health marketing and communications team.
The team recently earned 17 Communicator Awards, including Awards of Excellence for the health system’s annual report, a feature article, employee newsletter and its “Better Is” advertising campaign.
The team also earned 21 national awards, including a prestigious Best of Show, in the 35th annual Healthcare Advertising Awards and 12 awards, including two first-place honors, in this year’s South Carolina Press Association competition.
