Tidelands Health earns 17 awards in international marketing and communications competition
Joining the likes of IBM, Bank of America, FedEx and Deloitte, Tidelands Health has earned 17 awards, including four top Awards of Excellence, in a major international marketing and communications competition.
Each year, more than 6,000 entries are submitted to the Communicator Awards, one of the largest contests of its kind. The competition is sanctioned and judged by the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts, an invitation-only group of top-tier professionals from media, communications, advertising, creative and marketing firms.
In this year’s competition, Tidelands Health earned four Awards of Excellence and 13 Awards of Distinction.
“We work extremely hard to reach out within the community to drive home the importance of health and wellness,” said Amy Stevens, vice president of marketing and communications for Tidelands Health. “To stand alongside such major brands in earning these awards is a humbling reflection of the quality of our efforts.”
Four Awards of Excellence were awarded to the health system for its annual report, a feature article highlighting a woman who donated 3,000 ounces of breast milk, the health system’s employee newsletter and its “Better Is” campaign, a 14-part series of newspaper advertisements aimed at promoting healthy lifestyle choices within the community.
The health system also won Awards of Distinction for its “See it Safely” campaign around the Aug. 21, 2017, total solar eclipse, a custom hardcover book offering an hour-by-hour look at a day in the life of the health system, for several ads, digital communications and printed publications, for single video and video web series, and for five feature stories highlighting patients who received care through the health system.
Recognition from the Communicator Awards continues a string of honors earned by the Tidelands Health marketing and communications team.
For example, the department recently earned 21 national awards, including a prestigious Best of Show, in the 35th annual Healthcare Advertising Awards.
It also won 12 awards, including two first-place honors, in this year’s South Carolina Press Association competition for newspapers and associate members.
