Tidelands marketing team wins 32 national awards, including Best of Show

The Tidelands Health marketing and communications team has earned more than 30 awards, including Best of Show, in two national awards competitions.

Tidelands won 27 awards in the 33rd annual Healthcare Advertising Awards and five honors in The Communicator Awards. The health system was recognized for a wide range of marketing initiatives, including employee communications, patient education campaigns, physician referral and recruitment materials, social media efforts, the website and more.

A “Strong(her)” breast cancer awareness promotion produced by the health system last fall earned Best of Show recognition in the Healthcare Advertising Awards. The national awards competition received more than 3,700 entries from hospitals and health systems around the country, and just 17 earned the Best of Show honor.

In total, Tidelands received six gold awards, six silver awards, four bronze awards and 10 merit awards in the Healthcare Advertising Awards, in addition to Best of Show. Tidelands’ 27 awards were more than those won by any other hospital or health system in the nation.

Gold award winners included the health system’s patient welcome guide, a poster and t-shirt for the Stronger Through Movement medical fitness program, a physician recruitment program, newspaper advertising introducing the Tidelands brand and the Best-of-Show-winning “Strong(her)” promotion.

Other notable efforts among the health system’s award winners were the new Tidelands Health name and logo; Partners, the health system’s employee magazine; and the health system’s use of social media during last year’s flooding.

The health system also earned five awards in The Communicator Awards, a national competition that this year received more than 6,000 entries. Tidelands won a Gold Award of Excellence for the “Our Community” TV commercial and four Silver Awards of Distinction for its employee magazine, the Strong(her) promotion, the website and the “Wellness” TV commercial.

The 32 honors from the Healthcare Advertising Awards and The Communicator Awards come on the heels of two additional major recognitions for the Tidelands marketing team. Recently, the health system’s “Partners” employee magazine was named best print newsletter in the Ragan 2015 Employee Communications Awards, while the organization’s “Rising Above the Tide” video spotlighting the response of physician and employee partners to last year’s flooding was named Grand Prize Winner – Best Overall Video in PR Daily’s 2015 Video Awards.
