Two local physicians join Tidelands Health board of trustees

Two physicians with a longstanding commitment to the community have been elected to the Tidelands Health board of trustees.

Dr. William Richmond, director of the emergency department at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital, and Dr. Gayle Richmond, a founding partner in Carolina ObGyn, have been elected to two-year terms.

H. McRoy Skipper Jr., CPA, said that Drs. William and Gayle Richmond possess a point of view that will be a valued strength to the 16-member board.

“Drs. William and Gayle Richmond bring a wealth of experience  and knowledge to the Tidelands Health board of trustees,” Skipper said. “As longtime members of our community, they are trusted and respected for the care they provide to patients and the contributions they make to the community. Their leadership and involvement will be invaluable as we plan for the future of Tidelands Health.”

Dr. William Richmond is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He completed medical school at the Medical College of Virginia and his residency at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Dr. Gayle Richmond completed her medical degree and residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. She is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology.
