Brooke Cox, senior director of Tidelands Health Group, has been named practice administrator manager of the year by a statewide organization of her peers.

The award, announced recently at the state meeting of the South Carolina Medical Group Managers Association and MAG Mutual, recognizes Cox for outstanding leadership abilities in her local SCMGMA chapter, enhancing the strategic operational effectiveness of Tidelands Health and for promoting quality health care delivery to patients.

Cox joined Tidelands Heath in 2009 as an administrative intern. In 2010, she became director of Tidelands Health Group, the physician practices owned by Tidelands Health.  Under her leadership, Tidelands Health Group has expanded from one practice and seven employee partners to 25 practice locations, 58 providers and 178 employee partners.

Cox is active in community organizations and has worked to advance health care locally and at the state level. She co-founded the Georgetown County Young Professionals and serves as the organization’s chair. In 2013, she was named by the Sun News as one of the Top 20 young professionals under 40 on the Grand Strand. She has worked with the South Carolina Healthy Outcomes Partners initiative.

A native of Andrews, Cox earned her bachelor’s degree from Coastal Carolina University and her master’s degree in health administration from the Medical University of South Carolina. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
