Dr. William Whiteside joins local medical community

An orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the foot and ankle has joined the medical staff of Tidelands Health.

Dr. William K.  "Will" Whiteside practices at Tidelands Waccamaw Orthopaedics and Spine. His specialty areas include orthopedic trauma, foot and ankle injuries, Achilles tendon disorders and sports medicine injuries of the lower extremity.

Dr. Whiteside earned his bachelor’s degree from Calhoun Honors College of Clemson University and his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed his residency in family medicine at Self Regional Healthcare and his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, Palmetto Health Richland. He also completed a foot and ankle fellowship at the Andrews Institute in Gulf Breeze, Fla.

Dr. Whiteside is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is board eligible in orthopedic surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
