Dr. Danielle Towns joins local medical community
Thursday, March 05, 2015
Dr. Danielle Towns, a family medicine physician who specializes in primary and preventive health care, has joined the staff of St. James Santee Family Health Center in Georgetown.
Dr. Towns earned her medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina and completed her residency in family medicine at McLeod Regional Hospital in Florence. She is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Physicians and the South Carolina Medication Association.
Dr. Towns, who enjoys making sweetgrass baskets in her spare time, said basket-weaving is similar to practicing medicine. “You’re weaving something together to make things beautiful,” she said. “And in medicine, you’re weaving all these different aspects of the person together – what they tell you is going on in their lives—as well as tests to try to make a better outcome for that person.”
St. James-Santee Family Health Center Carolina is located at 422 N. Fraser St. For more information, please call 843-436.1333.
