Learn how to shop healthy at GHS supermarket tour
Thursday, August 28, 2014
We may not be able to control grocery prices, but we can control what we spend, and knowing how to read nutrition labels is the first step in stretching food dollars and making healthier food choices.
To help consumers decipher the numbers and understand what all those words on packaging labels mean, Georgetown Hospital System dietitians are leading a free supermarket tour at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, at the Pawleys Island Food Lion. Participants will learn how to read labels, pick healthy snacks, shop on a budget and how marketing influences our food choices.
Space is limited, so contact 843-520-8288 to register. The Food Lion is located at 9380 Ocean Highway and the South Causeway.
