The public is invited to a special announcement for WCH at 3 p.m. and the Blessing of the Hands observance. Both events will take place at the new Bridge of Peace on the Bypass side of the hospital.
Pam Maxwell, BSN, RN, vice president of operations – WCH administrator, will be joined by Georgetown Hospital System officials to announce details of WCH’s new Pathway to Excellence award and what it means for the community.
The event will last about 30 minutes and will be followed by the Blessing of the Hands for the nurses.
Refreshments will be served. Visitors can park in the lot in front of the hospital.
National Nurses Week begins on May 6 and ends on May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale. This year’s theme is Nurses Leading the Way. The weeklong observance is intended to recognize the contributions that nurses make to their communities.
