Monday, March 31, 2014
Georgetown, S.C. – Help replenish our community’s blood supply and donate blood at Georgetown Memorial Hospital’s blood drive Friday, April 4.
The drive will take place 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Staff Development building behind the hospital. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments will take priority. To make an appointment, call 843.527.7173 or visit http://www.redcrossblood.org.
Donors will receive a T-shirt and a jar opener.
According to Red Cross statistics, each year about 4 million people in the United States need blood. The current need is acute because officials say wintry weather in January and February has sharply reduced the blood supply for the area.
In addition having a valid ID, blood donors must be healthy, be at least 17 years old and weigh a minimum of 110 pounds.
