GHS names new Human Resources director

Thursday, June 12, 2014

Marion Stamopoulos has joined Georgetown Hospital System as director of human resource operations.

Stamopoulos, who has an extensive background in human resources, comes to GHS from Carolinas HealthCare System in Charlotte, where she worked for 17 years, most recently as assistant vice  president for learning and organizational development.

Stamopoulos said GHS’ innovative leadership was one of the factors that attracted her to the position.

“Georgetown Hospital System clearly values innovation and creativity, and both of those are essential to fostering an environment where employees feel valued and encouraged to excel,” Stamopoulos said. “I am delighted to be part of such a vibrant team, and I look forward to building on the contributions that have made GHS an outstanding place to work and a regional leader in quality health care.”

A New Jersey native, Stamopoulos earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Delaware and her joint master’s in business administration and health administration from Pfeiffer University. She and her husband, Gus, have two children.
