Georgetown Hospital System’s marketing and communications department recently earned seven awards in two national competitions.

The hospital system received silver awards in both the Healthcare Advertising Awards and the Aster Awards for its new physician promotions and its Healthwaves community magazine. The hospital system also earned two bronze awards and a merit award in the Healthcare Advertising Awards, recognizing the organization’s HealthMatters electronic newsletter and its promotion of NextStep services and sports medicine clinics.

For the Healthcare Advertising Awards, winners were selected from more than 3,700 entries. A national panel of judges reviewed all entries for creativity, quality, message effectiveness, consumer appeal, graphic design and overall impact. Gold awards were presented to 297 entries and silver awards to 279 entries. Additionally, bronze awards were given to 252 entries.

The Aster Awards program is a medical marketing awards competition allowing healthcare organizations and advertising agencies to compete against similarly sized competitors from across the nation and world.
