Garnet or orange?

Wednesday, December 10, 2014

We know. The big game is over, but in the spirit of parity we're giving all our Gamecock and Tiger fans the chance for redemption or to cheer one more time in each of our blood drives. So if your team lost, you can still be a winner by giving blood at Willbrook on Dec.11 or Georgetown on Dec. 12. Hours are 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at Willbrook and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Georgetown. The drawing for a tailgate basket will take place in December -- in time for bowl season!

Georgetown Memorial Hospital’s drive will be in the staff development building behind the hospital. To make an appointment at GMH by phone, call 843.527.7173. To make an appointment for Willbrook, call 843.652.8200. Appointments will take priority, but walk-ins are welcome. Appointments at both sites also can be made at http://www.redcrossblood.org.

According to Red Cross statistics, each year about 4 million people in the United States need blood. In addition to having a valid ID, blood donors must be healthy, be at least 17 years old and weigh a minimum of 110 pounds.
