Betters Breathers Club to meet Oct. 17 at Waccamaw Community Hospital

The Better Breathers Club, a support group for people with chronic lung disease, will begin meeting monthly at Waccamaw Community Hospital. The first meeting will be held Oct. 17.

Sponsored by the American Lung Association, the meetings will take place from 1-2:30 p.m. in the first-floor classroom of the hospital. Attendance is free and open to anyone with chronic lung disease who wants to manage the disease better. Loved ones are also welcome to attend.

Topics to be covered include how the lungs work, understanding chronic lung disease, medicines and treatment and tracking symptoms. Information on exercise programs and social and emotional well-being, as well as guidance on talking to your health care provider, will also be available.
