Autism seminar set for May 2 at GMH

The daylong event gets under way at 8:30 a.m. with registration. The program will begin at 9 a.m. and will conclude at 4 p.m. Lunch will be provided. All events will take place in the GMH Education Center behind the hospital, which is located at 606 Black River Road.
Nationally known expert Cindy Schneider, author of “Acting Antics,” will speak. She will be joined by Marcella Ridley, founder of Winston’s Wish Foundation and co-author of Ryan’s Law. Other speakers include Tripp Ritchie, executive director of the Lowcountry Autism Foundation; Kristy Marshall, an occupational therapist with NextStep Pediatrics; Cathi Browder, regional administrator for the S.C. Department of Disabilities and Special Needs, and Debbie Wardell of the S.C. Interventionists.
