Georgetown, S.C. – Summervacation season may be ending, but the demand for blood is constant. Waccamaw Community Hospital is holding a blood drive from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at Wachesaw Conference Center. Register online at

 Appointments will take priority over walk-ins at both locations. Wachesaw Conference Center is located at 4367 Riverwood Drive, 29576, across the street from Waccamaw Community Hospital.

 All blood types are needed, so roll up your sleeve and come give the gift of life. In addition to having a valid ID, blood donors must be healthy, be at least 17 years old and weigh a minimum of 110 pounds.

 Both drives are sponsored by Georgetown Hospital System and the American Red Cross.
