Understanding diabetes topic of free public lecture

Georgetown, S.C. — Family physician Dr. Steven A. Meixel will give a free public lecture titled “Diabetes 101: Understanding Diabetes” at noon Wednesday, June 5, in Murrells Inlet.

Meixel, a physician with Waccamaw Community Care in the Socastee/Surfside Beach area, will speak at Wachesaw Conference Center across from Waccamaw Community Hospital. The event will last about an hour and include opportunities for participants to ask questions. His talk is being hosted by Georgetown Hospital System.
