Tuesday, November 19, 2013

Georgetown, S.C. – Cutting calories doesn’t have to mean cutting out the holiday goodies, especially when you know how to make healthy choices when shopping, cooking and eating.

But sometimes packaging information can be a little confusing. o help consumers decipher the numbers and understand what all those words mean, Georgetown Hospital System dietitians are leading a free Supermarket Tour at 5 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Pawleys Island Food Lion.

The tour will last about one hour and include time for questions. Participants will learn how to read labels and ingredients, pick healthy snacks, shop on a budget and how marketing influences our food choices.

Space is limited, so contact 843-520-8288 to register. Food Lion is located on Highway 17 at the South Causeway.
