Does your blood run garnet or orange? Show us at HealthPoint blood drive

Georgetown, S.C. – Does your blood run garnet or orange? It’s your chance to tell the community and save a life at HealthPoint Center for Health and Fitness blood drive from 12:30-5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24.

In a lead-up to the annual Carolina-Clemson football game on Nov. 30,  Georgetown Hospital System is encouraging Carolina and Clemson fans to declare their allegiance and give blood at three blood drives. Carolina edged out Clemson in Georgetown Memorial Hospital’s Oct. 4 drive. The third drive is set for Nov. 1 at Waccamaw Community Hospital.

The team with the most donations will be announced after each drive. Every donor’s name will be entered into a drawing for a Carolina and a Clemson tailgate basket and a Carolina and a Clemson beach chair that will be awarded the week of the game.

Not a Gamecock or a Tiger fan? No worries; just be a fan for life. Appointments will take priority, but walk-ins are welcome. Appointments can be made by calling 843.527.7173 or going to

In addition to having a valid ID, blood donors must be healthy, be at least 17 years old and weigh a minimum of 110 pounds.
