Blood drive set for HealthPoint on Dec. 27

Georgetown, S.C. – The need for blood never takes a holiday; in fact, it only increases. The public can help meet that need by donating blood Dec. 27 at HealthPoint Center for Health and Fitness in Pawleys Island.

Sponsored by Georgetown Hospital System and the American Red Cross, the drive will take place from 12:30-5:30 p.m. in the blood mobile in the parking lot.

Appointments will take priority, but walk-ins are welcome. Appointments can be made by calling 843.527.7173 or going to http://www.redcrossblood.org.

In addition to having a valid ID, blood donors must be healthy, be at least 17 years old and weigh a minimum of 110 pounds.

HealthPoint is located at 12965 Ocean Highway.
