March Blood Drive Set for March 2 in Murrells Inlet

Murrells Inlet, SC – Georgetown Hospital System will host the March Blood Drive on Friday, March 2 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Wachesaw Conference Center in Murrells Inlet across from Waccamaw Community Hospital.

Residents of surrounding counties are encouraged to contribute to the lifesaving cause of becoming a blood donor. “In the South Carolina Region, approximately 500 people need to give blood or platelets each week day to meet the needs of area hospital patients. While all blood types are needed, we currently have a particular need for type O and type B blood donors," says Frecia Ammons, Senior Donor Recruitment Representative for American Red Cross South Carolina Blood Services.

Blood donation appointments can be made by calling 843.652.1135 or online at http://www.redcrossblood.org. Walk-ins are also welcome. Donors will receive a special gift.
