GHS regional health screening Sept. 7 in Murrells Inlet

Georgetown, S.C. -- Georgetown Hospital System’s Regional Health Screening is set for 7:30 – 10:30 a.m. Sept. 7 at Belin Memorial United Methodist Church in Murrells Inlet.

The popular screening is one of several that GHS offers throughout the year for the community and includes a variety of health screenings, many of which are free, as well as information about GHS programs and physicians and tips for a healthy lifestyle.

Screening that are offered for a fee include cardiac risk assessment, $25; chemistry panel, $20; thyroid screening, $15; diabetes, $15; PSA for men, $15. Blood panel tests require a 10- to 12-hour fast.

Registration packets for the event are available at the information desks at Georgetown Memorial Hospital and Waccamaw Community Hospital. Individuals who plan to have blood work are encouraged  to pick up a packet in advance, complete it and bring it to the screening.  Packets also will be available at the event, which will take place in the Family Life Center, 4182 Highway 17 Business.
